Richard Moore, Managing Director, Turnkey Estates
Establishing an admirable skill for making contacts in his early career and a true talent for business, Richard set up his highly successful PR company in the early 70s, J R Associates Ltd. Specialising in the sport and leisure industry, an area of passionate interest to Richard, the company retains its reputation to this day.
Richard continued on his successful career trajectory during the 1980s and 90s acquiring the travel business, Intatravel Group PLC. He developed the company from one shop to an impressive 35 outlets before allowing it to be sold to First Choice PLC for £10 million.
After his success in the travel, sport and leisure industries, Richard came to London to develop his interest in property.
Richard founded Turnkey estates in 1996, helping it grow into the boutique property development company, specialising in prime central London it has since become. Within five years of his first property purchase, the company had acquired a further 12 properties and was already developing a substantial lettings portfolio. The company now boasts over £200m worth of properties and specializes in Knightsbridge, Belgravia and Chelsea.
Richard maintains a keen interest in sport and in 1992 was made Director of Ipswich Football Club. He continues to be one of the club's main ambassadors. He is currently Chairman of the Sports Committee and actively responsible for the national activities of the Variety Club of Great Britain, a charity that raises in excess of £10m per annum for handicapped children.
